New Projects Awarded

Precision Concrete Construction has completed Chick-Fil-A's new I.T. Warehouse Expansion and Interior Renovation.  The project consisted of a 9,000 SF slab on grade and elevated slab addition.  The project included 30" diameter architectural concrete columns that stand 22'-0" tall.  27,000 feet if stained concrete floors were also completed by Precision.

Precision Concrete Construction has been awarded the concrete package for the St. Francis Hospital Project in Columbus, Georgia.  The project is a $110 million expansion that includes a four-story, 189,000 SF Clinical Services building on the back side of the main hospital structure and a four story, 169,000 SF Medical Office Building.  Both buildings have been designed so that 4 additional floors could be added in the future.  In addition to the 2 new buildings, the Central Enery Plant has 1,100 SF of addition and renovation, the Cardiovascular ICU consists of 11,825 SF of new addition and the Medical ICU consists of 1,925 SF of new addition.  Site improvements include new retaining walls, stamped concrete drives, sidewalks and added paved parking lots.  Skanska serves as the Construction Manager and General Contractor.  The architect is Howell Rusk Dodson and the structural engineer is Wright Engineering.

Evans General Contractors has awarded Precision Concrete Construction the MTU Tognum Expansion located in Graniteville, South Carolina.  The project consists of an 8,000 square foot test cell builidng with 52 ft. tall elevator and stair shear walls and 36 ft. tall concrete walls that will inclose the diesel engines being tested here.  A 6,000 SF mechanical building and utility bridge are also included with the project.  Precision Concrete Construction previously completed the MTU Diesel Production Facility in 2010. 

Clearwater Paper Warehouse - Project Update

Precision has passed the mid point of construction on the 2nd phase of the Clearwater Paper Project.  This is a large industrial building in Shelby, NC; where paper products will be manufactured.  Phase I included a large retaining wall spanning the length of the plant.  Phase II consists of spread footings, piers, vaults, trench drains, crash wall, foundation pads for heavy equipment, and slab on grade.  The General Contractor is Edifice, Inc.

Precision Concrete 3rd Annual Charity Golf tournament

On May 19th, Precision was happy to host their well respected clients, suppliers and subcontractors at the 3rd Annual Charity Golf tournament benfiting the American Cancer Society.  72 golfers battled it out for bragging rights as $10,000 was raised and donated by Pam and Lenny Moniz to the well deserving charity.

Clemson Lee Hall in ENR magazine

The future architectural showcase that is Lee Hall on the campus of Clemson University is featured in ENR's Southeast edition this month.  Precision crews are in the midst of placing the architectural exposed floors that feature the latest and greatest technology of shrinkage compensating concrete.  See the link below to read the complete article.

Precision executive wins award!

Long time Precision Concrete Construction, Inc. Vice President Dave Bradbury has been selected as a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient for the American Subcontactors Association (ASA).  Dave has dedicated many years not only to Precision and ASA, but to the concrete industry as a whole.  We wish him well with his recent retirement from Precision Concrete.

ENR Southeast Top 25 starts

Recently, Engineering News Record (ENR) listed Top Starts in the Southeast in their March 7, 2011 issue (link below to article).  Precision is proud to be working on multiple projects on this list for their valued clients.  The list consists of six (6) projects in Georgia.  Precision is performing the concrete work on four (4) of those.  These projects include disciplines such as Renewable Energy, Corrections, and Healthcare showing our diverse range of capabilities from Heavy Commercial to Industrial work.  Our clients contract with us for complete turnkey scopes of work, which means we purchase all materials (concrete, rebar, post tension, embeds, etc) and self perform the excavation, formwork, rebar installation, finishing, layout, safety, quality control, etc.  Through strong relations with Owners, General Contractors, Construction Managers and Suppliers, Precision is capable of weathering these tough economic times to be involved with the largest projects built in the Southeast.

Precision Concrete project featured in Concrete Construction Magazine

The Atlanta Bonded Warehouse Addition (ABW) in Kennesaw, GA was featured in the September 2010 issue of Concrete Construction Magazine. The project was featured due to its unique 180,000-square-foot light-reflective floor with no cracks and only one open construction joint.

Precision collaborates with Georgia Southern

Precision Concrete Construction was proud to host a group of 35 students to Waycross, GA to take a tour of the Georgia Biomass Wood Pellet Plant.  Precision is self performing all facets of the concrete work on this large industrial project where approximately 20,000 yards will be poured from May-October.  The students are attending Dr. Wei Wu’s Construction Materials class.  Not only did the students get to see concrete work in progress, they also were able to view the on site concrete batch plant, the on site concrete testing laboratory and a number of pieces of large process equipment that has been installed to date.  We wish all of these students good luck in finishing classes and entering into the industry upon graduation.
